    Overview of the Writing Contest Series

    The Nexus Mutual DAO Community team is sponsoring the Staying Safe in DeFi Writing Contest, which aims to improve both the quantity and quality of content related to staying safe in DeFi.

    The program will span several months with different themes/seasons.

    • Each season will last one month. When a season concludes, the Community team will select the top three (3) submissions and those content creators will share a prize pool of 800 USDC.
    • The winners of each round will be announced before the next season begins.

    Get Involved in the Contest!

    You can submit your own original content; or

    You can act as a scout and submit content created by other DeFi writers.

    • Note: Scouts can submit entries for other content creators. If that content is chosen, scouts can earn 50 USDC but the remainder of the prize will go to the original content creator.

    Submissions should be at least 250 words in length. To enter the contest, please create written content on a publicly accessible platform, such as:

    • Twitter / X article or threads
    • Long-form Lens or Farcaster posts
    • Mirror articles
    • Blog posts

    Review and Selection Process

    The DAO Community Team will select the top three (3) submissions based on:

    • Strength of the writing
    • Accuracy of the information provided
    • Relevance for the season's themes

    Please note that content that includes the following will not be eligible:

    • Basic content that is recycled, remixed or hyped
    • Only audio or video content–there needs to be a written component
    • Partnership offers

    What types of submissions are welcome?

    We welcome submissions that include original written content that addresses safety in DeFi, specifically focusing on the risks involved and possible mitigation measures. The content must be at least 250 words long and can be published on publicly accessible platforms such as Twitter or X threads, Lens, Farcaster, Mirror, or blogs. The content should aim to bring value to the DeFi ecosystem by providing clear, plain-language explanations and viable solutions, potentially incorporating Nexus Mutual's product offerings.

    Which kind of submissions will be ineligible for the contest?

    Contributions will be ineligible to win any prizes if they include any content that is basic and lacks originality, such as recycled, remixed, or overly hyped material. Additionally, submissions in the form of only audio or video content, as well as partnership offers, will not be eligible for the contest. The program seeks substantive written pieces that contribute meaningful insights into DeFi safety.

    What are the steps to get involved?

    To get involved in the contest, participants should first create their content according to the specified guidelines. Once the content is ready and published on an eligible platform, the participant should share their work through our Staying Safe in DeFi Writing Contest Entries Form.

    What is the prize amount for the winners?

    The prize amount for the victors is set at a total pool of 800 USDC, which will be shared among the top three (3) content creators for each season (1st place: 400 USDC, 2nd Place: 250 USDC, 3rd place: 150 USDC). The winners are determined by the DAO Community Team, and will be announced at the end of the month following each contest season. If there are no entries meeting the quality standards, the full prize pool, or part of it, may be carried over to the prize pool for the next season.
