Fiat Premiums and Account Abstraction

Overview

The Mutual will have ample opportunity to expand into new markets where users may not have experience working with crypto or they may see it as a barrier to entry. Given the advancements in account abstraction and on/off ramps, there’s significant potential to improve the user experience by developing a smart account integration complete with an on-ramping service. This would allow the Mutual to onboard more institutions and traditional market participants, who want to buy cover but don’t want to use a crypto wallet.

Scope of the Grant

We are looking for an individual or team to build an account dashboard where users can sign up with an email address and password to create a smart account. Once they have the smart account set up, they should be able to pay for cover using fiat, which can be on-ramped to ETH or DAI to pay for the cost of cover within the protocol.

Desired Outcome

This account dashboard should improve the user experience for non-crypto users. Given this is not our primary customer base, the immediate impact will be reduced. However, as the Mutual onboards more staking pool managers and third-party distributors, this grant can have a large impact on the technical and user experience improvements within new and existing user interfaces. Allowing a wider segment of users to pay for cover using traditional payment methods has the potential to grow premiums by 10% in the first year and will be a requirement to grow premiums more than 10x.

Desired Qualifications

• Senior Solidity developer(s)
• European timezone
• Prior knowledge/experience with with account abstraction solutions like Safe{Core}, Coinbase Smart Wallet, Alchemy’s Account Kit, etc. and on-reamp solutions is highly desired
